About Us
Since opening in 1987 and introducing the Chicago style restaurant menu to South Bend, King Gyros has delighted Michiana residents of all ages with great food, friendly service and convenient locations. These are the principles on which father and son Nick and Tom Allen built the King Gyros business.
As a young man, Tom began washing dishes and worked his way up in the business. During that time, he started to develop and initiate ways to improve the business, in the areas of customer service, food quality, and the over-all dining experience. With Tom’s vision, the King Gyros brand grew and evolved over the years.
Our Tradition
From its humble beginnings, King Gyros grew from just one location in South Bend serving great tasting Gyros to three locations featuring an expansive menu that includes delicious BBQ, burgers, chicken, Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches and garden fresh salads too!
Today, in the same tradition of continuous improvement, Tom Allen is putting a new face on an old favorite. The familiar King Gyros landmarks are now known as T. Allen’s King Gyros. You’ll find the same tasty recipes, sauces and selection that began many years ago, and you’ve come to enjoy with your friends and family.
So the next time you want a delicious meal that offers something for everyone, come out and visit one of the three original T. Allen’s, King Gyros locations, where it all started… Right here in South Bend.
